"Because I showed so much determination my family and friends just followed my lead. We all drew strength from each other. It was quite an experience that brought us all closer together and made us realize that our time is precious. I was so touched by the words and acts of kindness and all of the prayers that were being said for me."

"The first time I attended the Women's Lung Cancer Forum was the first time I ever met somebody else with lung cancer. And…………… they're no different from anybody else, except for having this particular disease. And if you live long enough, you learn that everybody's got something. But I have learned that this group of women also has a special gift, perhaps borne of having cancer, I don't know. They are compassionate, generous, thoughtful and kind in ways that leave one in awe of their humanity. I consider it an honor to be part of this Tuesday night "sisterhood." It has enriched my life in ways that I can't even begin to express. And to think I wouldn't know about the group or any of these wonderful women if I didn't have lung cancer………"

"I feel that there is something helpful that I am meant to do in my life. Whatever it is, I hope I can meet the challenge. I pray to God to help me face adversity with faith and courage if not always with understanding."

"Of course I worry that the cancer will come back, but I try not to dwell on it. My friends and family help with that. If I get busy with other things, positive things, it makes it easier. Don't believe everything you read. It has been so helpful to be around other survivors, especially those who had surgery many years ago and have not had a recurrence."
